Sue Williams, relationship therapist

After a first career in teaching, my initial training was at the Institute of Family Therapy, this was followed by a year’s clinical observation at the Tavistock Clinic in Hampstead, London. I then trained in Couple and Individual Relationship Therapy at Relate and became a Certified Relationship Counsellor and worked in Relate centres until setting up in private practice in 2004.
I spent a year at the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships studying Psychosexual Therapy and have continued attending courses there regularly as part of ongoing professional development.
I am an Accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I adhere to their ethical framework.
I believe that although there is no magic cure, many couples and individuals only require a relatively short intervention in order to recognise and change old patterns of behaviour, develop new strategies to deal with issues and improve communication.
I see clients online or as a a combination of online and in-person at Muswell Hill, North London.
